When an agent receives his first DRE license, its
usually a conditional license. The agent has 18 months from date
of issuance to complete two (2) College Equivalent courses in order
to get his actual license. The Qualification Courses that he can
choose from are as follows:

- Real Estate Practice
- Real Estate Appraisal
- Property Management
- Real Estate Finance
- Real Estate Economics
- Legal Aspects of Real Estate
- Real Estate Office Administration
- General Accounting
- Business Law
- Escrows
- Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending
If an agent does not meet the Qualification Requirements, the conditional
license will lapse. If the agent meets the qualification requirements,
he then has 2 years for his First License Renewal. First Time Renewals
only requires that the agent take a total of 12 Hours of Mandatory
DRE approved CE courses:
- 3 Hours Agency
- 3 Hours Ethics
- 3 Hours Fair Housing
- 3 Hours Trust Fund Handling
First time renewals on and after January 1, 1996 require 45 hours
of DRE approved CE courses:
- 3 Hours Agency
- 3 Hours Ethics
- 3 Hours Fair Housing
- 3 Hours Trust Fund Handling
- 18 Hours Consumer Protection
- 15 Hours Consumer Service or Consumer
